To protect any file with password by WinRAR go through belo steps:

  1. Right click the file which you want to protect with password.

  2. Click “Add to archive…”

  3. A new dialog box will open there you can choose more options for your archive.

  4. Now move to the next tab “Advanced” in that dialog box.

  5. In that tab click on “Set Password…” Button.

  6. An another dialog box will open named “Archiving with Password”

  7. There enter the desired password and check the check boxes for
    i. First check box is to show the password entered in that dialog box
    ii. Second one is to decide that whether you want to show the archive contents without the password or not, named “Encrypt file names”.

Now archive is safe with password.
